Description
Our Vita C formulation contains vitamin C, calcium chelate and zinc in a unique formulation to support the beneficial effects of natural antioxidants for the body. The vitamin C, calcium and zinc in the formulation are easily absorbed and utilized. Vita C is also a useful preparation for general immune system support and lung function.
Antioxidants also play an important role in supporting horse health. In certain situations, such as stress or disease, free radicals increase and the body is unable to produce enough antioxidant compounds. Natural antioxidants protect the body at the cellular level from the damaging effects of environmental free radicals. Many free radicals are released from the external environment, e.g. by exposure to sunlight or pollution, increased exposure to alarms and killers, toxic chemicals, etc.
The best known antioxidants are vitamin C, vitamin E, vitamin A and flavanoids. In addition to these, there are a number of minerals that are essential for the antioxidant enzymes produced by the body, such as zinc, copper, magnesium and selenium.
Composition:
Vitamin C 300 g/kg
Calcium (chelate) 100 g/kg
Zinc Methionate (Chelate)50 g/kg
Why they matter:
Vitamin C: ascorbic acid increases the absorption of iron in the small intestine. It is needed for collagen metabolism, supports the immune system, speeds up wound healing after injuries, helps bone fusion and muscle regeneration, and renews the body's vitamin E reserves.
Calcium: needed to build strong bones and muscles. Supports muscle function, eliminates muscle spasms. Supports the regulation of heart function and the transmission of nerve impulses.
Zinc: It plays an important role in the immune system and in maintaining healthy skin. It plays a role in hair growth, improves reflexes and immune function.
Only 4-5% of the inorganic bonded minerals from the ground dolomite containing magnesium and calcium are incorporated into the body. In contrast, the utilisation of minerals chelated to amino acids in Equimins preparations is approximately 45%.
